Metabolic Support Complex
Berberine, Broccoli Sprout Extract, Cinnamon Bark, Banaba Leaf Extract and Chromium Picolinate. A comprehensive approach to supporting healthy glucose metabolism and everyday metabolic wellness.
Developed for health-conscious adults and seniors seeking nutritional support for healthy glucose regulation as part of a balanced lifestyle.
Support Your Metabolic Health
Insulin helps the body's cells use glucose for energy. When insulin sensitivity decreases, the body may need to produce more insulin to maintain normal glucose levels. Prediabetes describes blood glucose levels above the normal range but below the diagnostic threshold for diabetes.
This formulation brings together botanicals and an essential trace mineral that have been investigated for their roles in glucose metabolism, insulin-related signaling and cellular antioxidant defenses.
Glucose Metabolism
Supports a healthy metabolic environment through complementary nutritional ingredients.
Insulin-Related Pathways
Features ingredients studied for their potential effects on glucose handling and insulin sensitivity.
Cellular Protection
Includes broccoli-derived sulforaphane precursors and botanical polyphenols associated with cellular stress responses.
Healthy Aging
Complements nutrition, physical activity and preventive healthcare for adults at every stage of life.
Five Ingredients. Complementary Mechanisms.
1. Berberine
Berberine is an isoquinoline alkaloid found in plants such as Berberis species. Its nitrogen-containing, positively charged molecular structure contributes to its biological activity. Research has investigated its effects on AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), hepatic glucose production, intestinal glucose handling and metabolic signaling.
Randomized trials and meta-analyses report improvements in some glycemic measures, including fasting glucose, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR. However, study quality and results vary, and evidence in prediabetes is less extensive than research across mixed metabolic populations.
Formulation role: The principal botanical ingredient for glucose-metabolism research.

2. Broccoli Sprout Extract
Broccoli sprouts contain glucoraphanin, a glucosinolate that can be converted by the enzyme myrosinase into sulforaphane, an isothiocyanate. Sulforaphane activates the Nrf2 cellular stress-response pathway and has been studied for its effects on antioxidant defenses and hepatic glucose production.
A randomized 2025 study in adults with prediabetes found a modest reduction in fasting glucose after 12 weeks, but the prespecified primary outcome was not met. Response varied between participants, and exploratory findings require confirmation.
Formulation role: Adds a plant-derived compound with potential cellular stress-response and metabolic relevance.

3. Cinnamon Bark
Cinnamon contains polyphenols, cinnamaldehyde and other aromatic compounds. These constituents have been studied for potential effects on insulin signaling, glucose transport and carbohydrate metabolism.
In a small 12-week randomized trial involving adults with prediabetes, cinnamon improved selected glucose-related measures relative to placebo. A separate crossover trial reported lower average glucose during cinnamon supplementation. These findings are encouraging but do not establish long-term diabetes prevention.
Formulation role: Adds a traditional botanical with preliminary human evidence relevant to glucose regulation.

4. Banaba Leaf Extract
Banaba (Lagerstroemia speciosa) contains corosolic acid, a pentacyclic triterpenoid, along with polyphenols and other plant constituents. Corosolic acid has been investigated for potential effects on cellular glucose uptake and glucose metabolism.
Human evidence remains preliminary. Extract composition, dose, standardization and study methods vary, so the effects of a particular commercial extract cannot be assumed from studies of another product.
Formulation role: Provides an additional botanical mechanism for investigation in metabolic wellness formulations.
Search PubMed for banaba and corosolic acid research.
5. Chromium Picolinate
Chromium picolinate is a supplemental form of trivalent chromium, a trace mineral associated with picolinic acid. Chromium has been studied for its possible role in insulin-related signaling and glucose metabolism.
Formulation role: Supplies a trace mineral involved in normal physiology, although additional supplementation does not necessarily improve glucose control in adequately nourished people.
Search PubMed for chromium picolinate clinical trials.
How the Ingredients May Work Together
The formulation is based on the hypothesis that ingredients acting through different biological pathways may provide complementary nutritional support. Berberine and banaba compounds have been studied for glucose-related signaling; sulforaphane for cellular stress responses and hepatic glucose production; cinnamon for glucose handling; and chromium for its possible role in insulin-related physiology.
Metabolic Wellness for Adults and Seniors
Maintaining healthy glucose regulation is an important part of long-term wellness. Older adults may have additional considerations, including reduced kidney or liver function, multiple prescriptions, and greater consequences from medication-related hypoglycemia.
- Complement a balanced dietary pattern emphasizing vegetables, legumes, fiber and minimally processed foods.
- Support regular aerobic and resistance exercise.
- Encourage appropriate monitoring of fasting glucose and HbA1c.
- Help support a comprehensive approach to metabolic wellness alongside qualified healthcare.
